Golden Princess: Alaska, 6-2013 EPISODE ONE – Cruise Cardinal

The Cruise Cardinal is at it again! This time, he’s on board the Golden Princess, heading out of Seattle for Alaska on a 7-day turnaround. This cruise was in early June, 2013.

Alaska cruises are often more expensive than Caribbean cruises; the cruising season in Alaska is short – between May and September of each year. So the cruises are in demand – and the cruise lines know this and can charge a premium for the privilege. But the experience is fantastic. The scenery is amazing to see – waterfalls, glaciers, whales, dolphins, eagles, it’s quite spectacular!

This episode centers on the experience of visiting the Sawyer Glacier, at the end of the Tracy Arm Fjord. This visit happened in the space of about 6 hours, on the same day the ship visited Juneau! Seeing the glacier up close is an amazing experience, and the Cruise Cardinal recommends it highly!
